Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Eqtibasat ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our iOS application.

Who we are

Eqtibasat is an iOS application that displays curated Arabic literary quotes. The App is operated by Abdulrahman Alsaiari ("we").

What data we collect

Eqtibasat is designed to collect the minimum amount of data necessary to function.

We do NOT collect:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information.
• Your location.
• Your contacts, photos, or any device data outside the App.
• Information that personally identifies you.

We DO collect, only:

• A device identifier — provided by Apple's identifierForVendor API. This is a random ID specific to your device + this App. It does not identify you personally and is reset when you uninstall the App.
• Saved quote IDs — when you tap the heart on a quote, we store an association between your device identifier and that quote so we can show your saved list.
• Anonymous usage events — we record when the App is opened, when a quote is viewed, when a quote is hearted or unliked, when a quote is shared, and when the widget instructions are opened. These events are tied only to your device identifier, not to you personally.

Why we collect it

We collect this data solely to:

• Make App features work (your saved-quotes list).
• Understand which features and content people use, so we can improve the App.
• Diagnose and fix bugs.

We do NOT use this data for:

• Advertising.
• Tracking you across other apps or websites.
• Selling or sharing with third parties for their own purposes.
• Building any profile of you.

Where the data is stored

Data is stored on servers operated by Supabase, a database hosting provider. Data may be stored in Frankfurt, Germany.

How long we keep it

We retain device identifiers, saved quote IDs, and analytics events as long as the App is active or until you request deletion (see "Your rights" below). When you uninstall the App, your device identifier is reset by iOS, which effectively de-links your data even though the database row may remain.

Children's privacy

Eqtibasat is rated 4+ in the App Store and does not target children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your rights

You can request that we delete all data associated with your device identifier by emailing us at the address below. Because we do not collect your name or email, you will need to share your identifierForVendor value so we can locate your data.

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA. You can exercise these rights by contacting us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Significant changes will be announced in the App.
